The Academy Council and school staff team are committed to keeping our children safe and we regularly review our school policies and procedures to ensure that everything is being done to fulfil our duty of care. All staff are familiar with the government’s guidance for schools: Keeping Children Safe in Education  . We believe it is everybody’s responsibility to act if they feel that a child is not being cared for properly or being put at risk.  If staff, parents or members of the community suspect that a child is at risk or being harmed, please contact either Craig Jones, the Designated Safeguarding Lead Officer (DLSO), or Mrs Tamara Dexter (Deputy DLSO).  The designated Safeguarding Academy Councillor (Governor equivalent) at Haywood Village Academy is Mrs Dawn Payne.   All conversations will be dealt with sensitively and confidentially. However you may wish to report a concern through NSPCC Childline click here .
